WASHINGTON, D.C. INTERNSHIPS
Legislative interns in the Washington, D.C. office spend much of the day answering phones, sorting mail, giving tours and running errands around the Capitol Hill complex. They also work with members of the legislative staff by attending and reporting on Senate hearings, analyzing pending legislation, and conducting research.
To apply for an internship in Senator Nelson's Washington, D.C. office, first complete the online Washington, D.C. internship application form below. You will need to submit a short explanation of interest in the program, a resume, a writing sample of two pages, and two letters of recommendation.

In addition to administrative and receptionist duties, interns in regional offices work closely with staff to address constituent concerns and facilitate special events, such as town hall meetings. In the Orlando office, interns also contact federal agencies on behalf of constituents and assist caseworkers.
Applications from students attending college, vocational or alternative learning institutions are accepted. High school juniors and seniors may apply for school internships or community service credits with offices located in the regional offices only. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Attach the required documents to the application form or fax them to the office where the internship would be.
