Committees
Sen. Bill Nelson serves on four committees, and is the ranking member of one, and of one subcommittee.
Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation
Ranking member. Has jurisdiction over a broad range of issues, including transportation, the Internet, and the nation's space program.
Committee on Armed Services
Senior member. Deals with our nation’s defense and military, and monitors threats to our national defense.
Senator Nelson is the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, and a senior member of the Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee.
Committee on Finance
Senior member. Among the chief duties of the committee is oversight of the federal tax code.
Senator Nelson is also a senior member for the International Trade, Customs, & Global Competitiveness, and the Energy, Natural Resources, & Infrastructure, subcommittees.
Special Committee on Aging
Senior member. Oversees various issues concerning seniors, including retirement security, nursing home quality, consumer scams against seniors and prescription drug prices.
